NES&WGA will be presenting the annual youth grant at the Northeast Youth Sheep Show, July 19-21, 2024.  This year there will be TWO $250 cash awards are awarded annually to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding young men and women involved in the Northeast sheep industry for at least two years.

    1. Applicants must be at least 12 years old and not older than 18 as of January 1, 2024

    2. Applicants must reside in one of the New England States for themselves or families are members of   

      NES&WGA

    3. We encourage all youth to apply

    4. The three winners of the Youth Grant will be asked to return to the NES&WGA Annual Meeting in July

       2022 and give a report on how their grant money was used.

 

The committee looks at many things when considering to whom to make the awards.  We are certainly interested in your work with sheep and agriculture and how it has benefited your life.  The committee members want to remind you that they do look at the presentation of your application including neatness, spelling and punctuation.  Although you must complete the application yourself, we encourage applicants to have an adult, such as a parent, teacher or leader, proofread the application.

 

In addition to you, the applicant, completing the applications, please ask a Vocational Agriculture Teacher, 4-H Leader or an adult involved in the sheep industry to fill out the attached written reference and enclose the complete form with your application. This reference MUST be sent in by the application due date of June 15, 2024 for your application to be considered.

Please take the time to fill out the enclosed application if you are an eligible youth or pass it on to a young person you may know that is active in the sheep industry.  You may copy the application if needed.

 

Completed applications must be postmarked by June 15, 2024.
